7 Life-Changing Benefits of Speaking in Tongues
“Speaking in tongues is a powerful gift of the Holy Spirit that strengthens the believer, aligns our prayers with God’s will, and releases supernatural praise, power, and divine rest.”
Speaker: Pastor Binay Bandari
The gift of speaking in tongues is one of the most powerful spiritual treasures the Holy Spirit has given to the Church. Scripture never treats it as optional-Paul clearly commands, “Do not forbid speaking in tongues” (1 Corinthians 14:39). Every believer who embraces this gift steps into a realm of abundant spiritual blessing.
When we pray in the Spirit, our inner man rises above the limits of the mind and speaks directly to God. Paul writes, “In the Spirit he utters mysteries no one understands” (1 Corinthians 14:2). These mysteries bypass the enemy and strengthen us from within. Jude 1:20 urges believers to “build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” Tongues fortify us, mature us, and establish deep inner strength.
In moments when we don’t know how to pray, the Holy Spirit Himself steps in. With groanings too deep for words, He intercedes for us according to God’s perfect will (Romans 8:26-27). Tongues also release supernatural praise-our spirit worships beyond human language (Acts 10:46; 1 Corinthians 14:14-15).
This gift activates power, prophecy, revelation, and boldness (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8). Even Isaiah foresaw that praying in tongues brings divine rest and refreshing.
Speaking in tongues is not just an experience-it is a daily lifeline that empowers, renews, and anchors the believer in God’s presence.
